Princess Lissy

I may have inherited the royalty gene from my dad.

Maybe.

Not an actual royal gene though, just the gene that gives the general sense of entitlement and expectation that every one else should serve me.

Because of this, my life very challenging. For example, even though someone should come to clean my house... I must do it myself.

Do you see what I mean?

Also, I have to drive my own ass around! Which, I might add, not only endangers me and my children, but also you too. Lissy was made to have a driver, if you've seen me drive, well, I'm sorry. If you haven't, that's probably why you still have the use of your brain, or are alive.

Today, I waited around for someone to realize it was lunch time and that I was hungry... but no one did. So I had to make my own sandwich.

I know, right? Tough.
A challenging life.

Thanks, Daddy, this is awesome.

Zombies Like Music Too

(Press play. Do it.)

The summer heat finally hit and while Kim might love it, I preferred the spring weather we'd managed to keep until last week.

The heat, it kills me a little. Like I said to friend earlier, it makes me feel like I've died and been reanimated zombie-style. Everything within my skull turns to week old coleslaw, my body oozes clammy liquids through every pore, and all speech is reduced down to, "Bah....."

What do you do to beat the heat? How do you cope? I need tips. Preferably things that take very little energy or motivation. Because I was born with out those.

I'm taking the kids to the pool today. I'm going to float my zombie ass like a dead whale. It'll be glorious.

Yesterday I set my ringtone to Electric Avenue and it made me a bit nostalgic for some of the old music I listened to as a  young teen in the summer, so y'all get a bit of an oldies mix today. You're welcome.

Hearts&Bubbles&Zombies,
Lissy

When Lissy told me we were doing teen year music today for our playlist, I was stumped for a second, cause she picked to of my favorite band (Pixies & Breeders), but then bands started flooding my brain and my husband and I sat here and reminisced about concerts & snowboarding....we always had certain bands we would listen to on the way up to the mountain to get us pumped in the morning for a day of riding.....I love the way music can put you back in time!

Meh...

Kim and I took our asses to see Eclipse last night.

Yes, we really are that sort, the Twilight sort. We are the first to admit to our lameness over the fact, or at least Kim is, my general Awesomeness allows me to do dumb sh-t and remain unscathed, therefore there is nothing to admit to...

The fun thing about going to those movies is the audience involvement. Seriously, if you've been, you know, if you haven't, you're missing out. The cheering and hoopla that goes on, well, it's as if it's a live show, and even the men that were dragged there to hold their wives/gf's purses are not immune to the fever while locked in the venue. For us, the show is as much the audience as the actual movie.

As for the movie... well... it was ok. There were some parts that were great (Charlie), some that were not so great (the Jacob/Bella kiss that had as much chemistry as I have with my toilet brush) and some that were so awful you could only laugh (The wigs, the WIGS!!!! Oh, and Jasper's on/off again accent). The truth is, we came outta there more excited about the Step Up 3D trailer than the movie. Sad sh-t that.

Have any of you seen the movie? What did you think of it?

Lissy

All the beautiful Island people........

Yesterday was Canada Day as you all know (if you are Canadian or read our blog if you aren't) anyways, I took my youngest daughter down to our Island's children & Canada day fest.....basically some live music, food, a bounce-o-rama and a big field to run around on. I myself sat on the grass and had a drink with some beautiful girls that I only get to see a few times a year.....cause they are all living their young beautiful lives in the cities. So, they generally come back to the Island to see family and friends, and that means I always get to sneak in a few visits with them :) And tonight there are even more beautiful people coming to the Island that I haven't seen for awhile.....so you know what that means....yup, more visiting!!!! And then Saturday, Lissy has planned an evening out for my birthday......we were going to spend the day at the beach, but now both of us have to work till 3....so no beach, but I do get to go for dinner (with some of my beautiful Island women) at April Point Lodge for sushi....yumm, then off to the Heriot Bay Inn for some more Island fun......what a great few days I'm going to have!!!!!

What did you do for Canada Day? What are your plans for the weekend....will I see you?

I guess I should get to the real reason I'm here.....I know....blah blah blah kim........anyways here is our friday's playlist.....enjoy!!!!

Eh...?

!!!Happy Canada Day!!!

It's raining here, which might put a damper (cough) on the islands festivities. Then again, us West-Coasters are used to kicking it in the rain, so there may be much fun to be had by all.

How are you spending this summer day? Rain? Sun? Fun? Work? Sleeping? Eating? That's a good question actually. That is what I want to know. What was your favorite thing that you ate today?

Lissy
